The Unusual Girl: Chapter 5

There was still 2 weeks for them to be joining their new school in Taxile , so Mrs.Pal decided to send the girls sightseeing. She packed a delicious looking picnic basket for the girls, with sandwiches, toast, tea and cream rolls.

She said to Elsa,” I want you girls to go to Berlick Hills and enjoy a picnic together. I know you like picnics , and Berlick Hills is going to leave you speechless. It is one of the most famous tourist spots in Taxile.”

The girls reluctantly agreed, but deep down all of them wanted a break from all the unpacking that was going around.

Taking the picnic basket along, the exuberant girls decided to walk to Berlick Hills. The walk was long, but the girls utilised every bit of it by looking around with a keen eye, and soon they new most of the roads of Taxile near their house.

Rightly described by Mrs.Pal, Berlick Hills was breathtaking. There were two hills adjacent to each other, covered with soft, velvety grass. Flowers bloomed here and there, shining brightly like stars, small lively green bushes grew in abundance.  Also, there were twenty peach trees all around the hill, and the smell of ripe peaches loomed around in the air. The hills had every quality to be called breathtaking.
